We’ve Come a Long Way Baby!

Last night was another late night.  But a late night means we usually get to see a beautiful sunset, just like this one!  The front of our building faces mostly west and we love watching the sunset!  Once the windows are opened up in the back of the building, we’ll see sunrises from the veranda.

Applying boiled linseed oil

We’re extremely happy with our progress on the floors this week!  We are at least half way finished!  Half way finished!  If we could just get some more boiled linseed oil, we’d be able to knock this out by early next week.  Unfortunately, I’ve bought out all of the local supply.  And I ordered 14 cans to be delivered to our home.  Only 6 arrived and 8 are supposed to be shipped every day but every day the shipment gets delayed.  I’m not going to lie – I’m kind of frustrated at this point.

Kitchen cabinets

But look how good the floors are looking!!!  I was concerned about the color, especially with the kitchen cabinets and the antique drafting table cabinets we’re using in the kitchen but I think they look perfect together!  What do you think?

Tomorrow we are taking our adorable 11 year old granddaughter, Lily, to see Taylor Swift in Nashville.  We’re super excited to be having a Nana, Nandad & Lily weekend! So, I’m going to try to hit as many Lowe’s stores as possibly between here and there and hopefully I’ll be able to come up with about 20 gallons.  Wish me luck!

After we finish the floors next week, we’ll be starting on framing out the walls. Walls, we’re going to have walls!!!

Happy Friday! Go do something fun this weekend!

Thanks for joining our journey!
